Happy Birthday to Kimbers first litter of pups!

On September we had 6 beautiful puppies born in the span of 2 hours, what a busy girl Kimber was! The male to this litter was from a stud owned by a friend. 

The Firstborn was a girl, Maple, she had a cute little heart on her chest. In this photo, her chin is blocking the top part of the heart. 

12 minutes later Aspen was born, a small boy weighing in at a whopping 6.3 ounces. Aspen has a mostly white face like his grandpa, Kingsley. Aspen appears to not be fully black like his mom Kimber, he almost looks like he is a brownish-black color.

Third to be born was another boy, Linden, who had a large white collar and black around his eyes and black ears.

Fourth to be born is another girl, Ember. She got her name because she is almost all black like coal. 

Fifth to be born was another male, Rowan. Rowan is most likely spoken for already by a friend, he is brindle (our first!) and has two Haggerty spots! 

Our last pup born, though not a runt by any means he's the biggest of them all, is another male whom we named, Pumpkin. 

If you haven't guessed by now, each of the puppies has a fall-themed name, the names won't be their permanent names, their owners will eventually choose that for them, we just give them names to help identify them.

Beau became part of the BT Woof Pack this summer. He has been welcomed by Carole's dogs, Queenie, Pistol, Dottie, Kipper, and Daisy. Hopefully, Beau will get to meet the rest of the woof pack soon. 

Beau is a registered AKC red Boston Terrier and comes from smaller size parents. He will most likely bring smaller puppies to our future litters. Beau also has a longer snout than our other Bostons and we're hoping that some of that will transfer to our line as well.

Beau is very well-mannered, loving, and seeks adventure. He's the perfect pal to take on trips.

Kimber Reign Lily Bee

Such a long name for a little girl. Kimber is a product of Queenie and Kingsley, thus the "Reign" for a middle name since her parents both have royal names. 

Kimber is a sweetheart, she's never met anyone she doesn't love, and she will promptly lick you to prove it. She's also quite clever and patient, she'll wait for everyone else to drop what she wants to play with and then run over and steal it. Sometimes she also creates distractions so she can steal what she wants from the other dogs. When you're not alpha, you need to be creative.

Asking for a lower price etiquette

Recently we both had an offer for $500. for one of our puppies, I thought I would address this publicly. 

When a price is set by the breeder, we really do want the price that we offered the puppy to you.  However, we realize that not every unique home such as yours can afford the pup. In that case, we do sometimes make a rare exception and accept a lower rate, or maybe a lower rate with an exchange of service from you. doing so does not mean that our puppies are not worth the price that we are asking for, we are just recognizing that you are the best thing for our puppy and we want you to have the love that you deserve.  

With that being said...

Rules for asking for a lower rate on a purebred puppy

1. Do not insult us with a rate of half of the asking price unless you have an amazing offer to spice up the deal.
2. Do not ask us to drive 8 hours to drop off the puppy at our cost when you are already asking us to lower our price. You really should expect to drive to us if you are asking for a lower price.
3. Do not ask us for breeding rights in addition to a lower rate puppy. We typically ask for $500. more for breeding rights in addition to the full price.
4. Do not insist that our puppies are worth less than the puppy mill down the road. 
   
   
   

Why do we ask the price we do when selling our puppies?

1. Vet prices have gone from $100. a visit to $400. We are not going to ask our veterinarians to lower their prices because their service is valued by us. Healthy puppies are an essential aspect of our breeding program, it isn't something we would ever consider skimping on. 
2. Dog food prices have gone up considerably. Have you looked at the cost lately? A once $14. bag of food is now $32. Do you have any idea how much food a puppy can eat? Just because puppies are small does not mean they can't put away a considerable amount of food until they go to their forever homes.
3. Speaking of food prices, you do realize that whatever goes into puppies comes out? Puppy pads are a necessity. They cost about $30. per 100 pads. It's not unusual to go through that entire box of 100 in a week. 
4. Our biggest expense is "us"... we spend a considerable amount of time every single day cleaning (often 2-3 hours a day), cuddling, playing, etc. with your puppy.  Our care of your puppies doesn't come close to the value we are receiving, we do that out of love for what we do, but on the same token, we do deserve at least a little bit for the care we give. 
5. Licenses, depending on what type of license we order for the puppies (AKC is the highest cost), it isn't free. We have to pay for it when we register a litter.
6. Leashes, tools, toys, puppy bags to go home with the pups, shampoo (they get dirty a lot!), etc. all add up.
7. Do you realize that when our puppies are born they aren't always born on the weekends? We often have to take time off of work to birth them and take them to the veterinarian for care. That means lost wages. How often can you take time off of work with no pay? 

So please keep this in mind when you offer a lower price. Be kind and at least offer a service or be creative if you ask.

Both boys were born on May 28th, have AKC papers, have their shots up to date, have been to the vet for checkups, and are JHC cleared through their parents. 

Queenie has puppies!

On May 28th Queenie gave birth to 7 beautiful puppies. 4 boys, and 3 girls. 

Four of the puppies are spoken for, which leaves 2 boys and 1 girl still available. The three pups that are available are all black and white. I'll post some individual photos here in a couple weeks when they get closer to the age of being adopted.

Kai's furever parents have been wonderful people, keeping us up to date on his growth and life. As breeders, we are thrilled that Kai is doing so well and is loved so dearly. 

Kai's forever parents are allowing us to share one of his photos. Look how handsome Kai is! He's growing up so beautiful and muscular, he is perfect in every way. 

This perfect puppy was from Queenie and Kingsley's first litter of pups and will soon be sharing his life with a pup from Queenie and Kingsley's second set of pups... Banner (furever home name yet to be determined).

New Addition! Kimber Reign Lily Bee

Kimber Reign Lily Bee was born on May 28th, 2022, and was the 3rd pup to emerge from her mom Queenie Lily Bee. 

So far, Kimber seems fairly quiet in her pack, but highly healthy and content.  

Kimber Reign will join her dad, Kingsley, and Remi in the middle of July when she is old enough to leave her mom's side.

Kimber Reign is AKC, and JHC cleared through her parents.

Kingsley's latest set of puppies

One of Kingsley's girlfriends, Luna had a beautiful set of puppies here a couple weeks ago. 

Aren't they gorgeous? Beautiful markings and color on the pups. Of course, it helps that Luna also has beautiful markings and colors herself. 

There were 5 girls and 1 boy in this litter, all blue in color just like their parents. If you would like to watch them grow you can follow Mae Boston Terriers on Facebook.

Meet Dottie! Our little feisty AKC girl

 

Dottie is all grown up now! Dottie was born on November 8th, 2021. Her parents are Kingsley and Queenie. We hadn't expected to take on another pup so soon, within our "Woof Pack" but this one fits well with her home with Queenie and Pistol. 

Dottie is a "splash Boston Terrier" meaning she has all kinds of spots on her coat. Thus the name, "Dottie".

Get to know our newest puppies!

 On November 8th, 2021 Queenie and Kingsley had their very first litter of AKC pups! 

Six healthy puppies, three boys, and three girls. 

Four are Seal in color, a new seal color, half a traditional seal color like their mother, and half the gray coat that their dad has. Their seal color is a really unique color. The other two are the traditional black and white color.

The five puppies who will be going home to their forever homes on January 3rd, 2022 will come complete with a puppy bag, their shots, dewormed, and have had their first vet checkup. 

We require a deposit upon physical inspection of the puppy that you choose. We believe you should able to place a deposit (receipt given) in person when you view and play with your puppy because we don't like the current trend and scams we see on Facebook.
